What does Immedia Power do?

Immedia Power is developing the DOR (Distributed On-demand Resource), a compact on-site power platform targeting 200 kW per unit. It combines a multi-fuel engine and generator, power conversion and Power OS controls to help sites add capacity.

What is power anxiety?

Uncertainty about whether a site has the power to expand, handle demand peaks and plan for interruptions. Immedia’s approach starts with the capacity already available and the next operating need.

Can I keep my grid connection and add more capacity?

Yes, that is a planned DOR configuration. The grid continues to supply the site, with DOR adding local capacity. For example, 400 kW from the grid plus 600 kW from three DOR units gives 1 MW of illustrative site capacity. Final usable capacity depends on losses, reserve requirements and site engineering.

Is the DOR a behind-the-meter power system?

Yes. DOR is designed to be installed on the customer’s side of the utility meter and to add capacity alongside the existing grid connection. Whether any surplus could be exported depends on the connection agreement. Interconnection, permitting and site engineering still apply.

Would that same capacity remain during a grid outage?

No. When grid supply is lost, its contribution is unavailable. In the 400 kW grid plus 600 kW DOR example, the DOR contribution targets 600 kW before site losses and reserves. Supplying selected loads during an outage requires an engineered island configuration, protection and transfer arrangements. It does not imply uninterrupted transfer or power for the full 1 MW load.

Can the DOR provide backup power for a data center?

The DOR is being developed for everyday capacity first. Supplying selected loads during a grid outage is a planned island configuration that needs engineered protection and transfer arrangements, and it does not imply uninterrupted transfer or coverage of the full site load. Standby generators and UPS systems serve a different duty and may still be required.

How long does a DOR unit take to deploy?

Timing depends on product readiness, permitting, fuel supply, electrical integration, construction and commissioning. A project review would establish the site requirements and delivery path.

What fuels does the DOR run on?

Planned options include natural gas, CNG, LPG, biofuel, and hydrogen blends. Fuel configuration depends on the market and site.

Is the DOR a prime power or continuous power generator?

Prime, continuous and standby are generator duty ratings under ISO 8528-1 that describe permitted operating hours and load. The DOR is designed for sustained on-site operation, but it has no validated duty rating yet; ratings remain subject to validation and certification. The power-options guide explains the ratings.

Can I get a 200 kW generator that does not run on diesel?

The pre-pilot DOR targets 200 kW of electrical output per unit with planned natural gas, CNG, LPG, biofuel and hydrogen-blend configurations. Diesel is not in the planned fuel list. Units are designed to operate in parallel for larger loads. First pilots are planned for 2027.

What does a DOR unit cost?

Equipment sale, lease and Power-as-a-Service are planned. Pricing, lease duration, software access and service coverage are agreed for each site. Contact sales to discuss your project.

How efficient is the DOR?

The total fuel-to-electrical efficiency target is 36.5% at variable load, combining 42% engine thermal efficiency and 87% engine-to-grid conversion targets.

Can the DOR replace a grid connection entirely?

Standalone operation is planned for defined loads, alongside grid-tied and microgrid options. Whether a site can operate without the grid depends on its load, reserve capacity, fuel supply, protection and operating requirements. Adding capacity alongside the grid and replacing it are different engineering decisions.

What markets does Immedia Power serve?

Edge data centers are a leading example of the existing-site capacity problem, with EV fleet charging and commercial and industrial sites also in focus. Ports, oil and gas and defense are potential expansion applications. These are intended applications, not existing deployments.

How does the DOR compare to competitors like Mainspring or Bloom Energy?

What happens when a DOR needs service?

Power OS is planned to monitor equipment condition and help identify maintenance and parts needs for review by operators and installers. Software and an ongoing service relationship are planned across sale, lease and Power-as-a-Service. Who performs the work, what is covered and any separate fees will be defined in the site agreement.

How would Immedia work with an EPC or installer?

Immedia develops the DOR and Power OS. The EPC or installer defines site integration and installation work with the operator, who provides load and operating requirements. Qualification, delivery and ongoing support responsibilities are agreed for each project. Discuss an installer partnership.

Does Immedia Power hold patents?

Nine potential DOR-related inventions identified; no DOR patent applications have been filed as of 1 September 2026.

Has Immedia Power built a DOR prototype?

Not yet. An integrated DOR prototype has not yet been built or tested. The DOR is pre-pilot: figures are engineering targets and capabilities are planned. First pilot deployments are planned for 2027.
